This event is free of charge; however preregistration is required. The event will consist of light refreshments, music, pool games and more! This event is designed specifically for our therapeutic participants' and their families they will dress in proper swim attire and enjoy an afternoon of music, games, and fun in an indoor heated pool!  The program promotes socialization as well as independence.

Therapeutic Recreation Sweetheart Dance 7:00pm-9:00pm Jim Huie Recreation Center - Free - 678-479-5133  The "TR Sweetheart dance" is held annually at the Jim Huie recreation center between the hours of 7pm-9pm. The event will consist of music from the DJ, light refreshments and line dancing! Participants who have not completed a parent/child interview with a TR supervisor will need to be with a parent or care provider.

TR Mardi Gras Masquerade  at Carl Rhodenizer Recreation Center 7pm-9pm  is a special event for the therapeutic participants.  The theme will be presesnt throughout the event; from decor, to food and even the music. The participants will get the feeling of bein in New Orleans during Mardi Gras without leaving metro Atlanta.

Teen Summit       The summit will provide teens with college, and career information, as well as job readiness tips and ideas. The teens will get the opportunity to visit vendor stations that will be set-up through the recreation center to gain more one-on-one information about certain colleges and careers. Teens will be given the chance to ask questions in attempts of gaining a better outlook of job readiness. There will also be special guest speakers in attendance. TR All White Afffair  at VIP Complex Clayton County International Park $5.00 per person  The annual "All White Affair" will be held at the International Park- The Beach in Clayton County on Friday April 14, 2017 between the hours of 7pm-10pm. The event will consist of light refreshments, music, dancing, games and more! This program is open to our participants' and their families they will dress in all white according to the theme. The program promotes socialization as well as independence and pre-registration is required. This event is designed specifically for our therapeutic participants' and their families. Participants who have not completed a parent/child interview with a TR supervisor will need to be with a parent or care provider.

July Pool Carnival - Steve Lundquist Aquatic Center - Free  678-479-5133  July is national "Parks and Recreation Month", in spotlighting this the Jim Huie Recreation center will host a free event for the community. Participants will have the opportunity to visit the recreation center free of charge on All Saturdays during the month of July. The afternoon will consist of light refreshments, swimming, games, arts & crafts, music and more! Participants will not have to pre- register for the event, instead they are free to visit the recreation any time that day. The event will promote socialization and the importance of recreation services in regards to the quality of life.

Yule Log Celebration - Join us for an evening outdoors filled with holiday cheer.  Enjoy muisc by the Morrow and Forest Park High School Orchestra, refreshments, face painting and ornament making.  Follow  a candlelit

path through the woods to a bonfire where you will find storeyteller Barry Mann paiting pictures of holidays past.  The evening will be complete will attending chlldren seaching a wooded hillside for the fabled Yule Log.  Free
