          YULE LOG CELEBRATION - Join us for an evening outdoors filled with holiday cheer.  Enjoy music by the Forest Park High School Orchestra, refreshments,

          face painting and ornament making.  The follow a candlelit path through the woods to a bonfire where you will find storyteller Barry Mann painting pictures of

          holidays past.  The evening will be complete with attending children searching a wooded hillside for the fables Yule Log.  This event is FREE and provides a

          shuttle service from Babb Middle School.

          FESTIVAL OF TREES AND LIGHTS - In 2003 the Festival of Trees and Lights made its debut at the Clayton County International Park in Jonesboro, Georgia,

          as a major fundraiser for the programs and services provided through the Rainbow House. Since that time, thousands of families and friends of all ages have

          eagerly awaited this fun-filled event to kick-off the holiday season. With beautifully decorated trees, children's play area, great shopping, food, entertainment,

          photos with Santa, and other special events, the Festival has become a tradition among the community.

          and Recreation Department has partnered with various communities, organizations and businesses to hold a festival and barbeque competition.  Proceeds

          from the competition go towards scholarships for children to participate in outdoor activities. Lake Spivey Community, Inc. also assists by sponsoring

          a 15K road race and 5K run/walk.  The festival and barbeque competition / Lake Spivey Road Race is held at Clayton County International Park.

          NRPA/AARP 10 WEEK WALKING PROGRAM - This program is designed to increase physical activity among participants ages 55 and older. 

          Registration will take place during Mayfest at Clayton County International Park "The Beach" on Friday, May 14th from 10:00am until 2:00pm.

          OPENING WEEKEND AT THE BEACH - Clayton County International Park "The Beach" will open for this season on Saturday, May 29, 2010 from 10:00am

          until 7:00pm with a fireworks celebration beginning at dusk (around 9:00pm).  The cost to enter the Beach is $9 for children and $11 for adults.  There are no

          parking fees.  The Beach will be open on Memorial Day, Monday, May 31, 2010 from 8:00am until 8:00pm and will cost $10 per person to enter the park.

          REGISTRATION BEGINS FOR SUMMER CAMP - Available at the three Recreation Centers from 7:00am until 6:00pm June 7 - July 30 for a cost

          of $50 per week/per child.  Activities will include arts and crafts, basketball, swimming, games, and much more.  Lunch will be provided daily.
