Adult Softball League

Adult Softball Registration is Closed

Current League Information

Adult Softball games are played on Thursday evenings, with games beginning at 7:00 PM. Teams play two games each Thursday for a total of 10 regular-season games.

League Rules & Regulations

Rosters

  • Team rosters must be submitted before your first game.
  • Final rosters are due by the end of Game 4.
  • All players must be at least 18 years old by January 1 of the current year.

Lineups

  • A lineup card will be provided before each game.
  • Turn the completed lineup card in to the umpire before your first batter.
  • Include each player’s first initial, last name and jersey number.

Game Times

  • Games begin at 7:00 PM.
  • Teams have a 10-minute grace period and must have at least eight players to begin play.
  • Please arrive early. The grace period does not extend game time.

Number of Players

  • A minimum of eight players is required to start a game.
  • Late-arriving players may be added before their first at-bat. An out will be recorded for any missing player’s spot in the batting order.
  • Men’s leagues may bat up to 15 players.
  • Co-Ed leagues may bat up to 14 players.

Co-Ed League Rules

  • Teams must start with one of the following combinations:
    • 4 women and 4 men
    • 5 women and 3 men
    • 3 women and 5 men
  • If a required position is vacant, an out will be recorded until that player arrives.
  • Outfielders must remain on or behind the Co-Ed line until the ball is hit.
  • Defensive alignment consists of three women and three men in the infield and two women and two men in the outfield.

Player Eligibility

  • Players may only play for one team in the same league.
  • Guest or pickup players are not permitted unless they have been officially added to the team’s roster.

Courtesy Runners

  • One courtesy runner is allowed per inning.
  • The courtesy runner must be the last recorded out or a player not currently in the game.
  • Co-Ed teams may use one male courtesy runner for a male player and one female courtesy runner for a female player each inning.

Roster Protests

  • Protests must be made before the final pitch of the game.
  • A $25 protest fee is required.
  • If the protested player is found to be ineligible, the fee will be refunded and the game will be forfeited.
  • If the player is eligible, the protest fee will be forfeited.

Uniforms

  • Teams must wear matching jerseys with clearly visible player numbers.
  • Teams not in compliance by Game 3 will forfeit games until the requirement is met.

Pitching Screens

  • Pitching screens are required for every game.
  • The screen must be positioned 2 to 4 feet in front of the pitching rubber and cover at least half of the rubber.
  • First contact with the screen is ruled a dead-ball foul.
  • Second contact with the screen is an out.
  • If no foul balls remain, the first screen contact is an out.

Code of Conduct

  • Alcohol and smoking are prohibited on the field.
  • Profanity directed toward players, officials or spectators may result in ejection.
  • Fighting will not be tolerated and may result in removal from the league.
  • Treat players, coaches, officials and spectators with respect.
  • Teams are responsible for cleaning their dugout after each game.
  • Do not hit balls into or against the fences.
