Youth Football Programs Overview

Clayton County Parks and Recreation offers multiple youth football programs throughout the year, including tackle football, coed flag football, and girls flag football. Please review each section below for program-specific details, dates, and registration information.

Fall 2026 Tackle Football Registration opens May 1st, 2026.

Clayton County Parks and Recreation is excited to welcome athletes for the Fall 2026 Tackle Football Season. Our program focuses on skill development, teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship while providing a safe and competitive environment for young athletes.

Save the Dates for Fall 2026 Tackle Football

  • Registration Opens: May 1st, 2026
  • Practices Begin: August 3rd, 2026
  • Games Begin: September 5th, 2026
  • Picture Day: September 19th, 2026
  • Regular Season Ends: October 24th, 2026
  • Playoffs Begin: October 31st, 2026
  • Championship Game: November 7th, 2026

Registration Fee

  • Tackle Football: $155 Ages 5-12

Program Details

This section applies to tackle football only.

Required Equipment:
Participants must provide their own cleats and mouth guard.

Additional Details

Nonresident Fee:
A $25 fee applies to participants who live outside of Clayton County.

Practice Schedule:

  • Practices will begin in August
  • Teams may practice up to three times per week, typically on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays
  • Final practice schedules will be determined once registration closes and rosters are finalized

Season Details:

  • Games are played on weekends and continue through November

Fall 2026 COED Flag Football Season

Registration opens May 1, 2026.

Clayton County Parks and Recreation is excited to offer Fall 2026 COED Flag Football for young athletes. This program focuses on fundamentals, teamwork, and fun in a safe, non-contact environment.

Save the Dates for Fall 2026 Flag Football

  • Registration Opens: May 1st, 2026
  • Practices Begin: August 3rd, 2026
  • Games Begin: September 5th, 2026
  • Picture Day: September 19th, 2026
  • Regular Season Ends: October 10th, 2026
  • Playoffs: October 17th and October 24th, 2026
  • Championship Game: October 31st, 2026

Eligibility and Registration Fee

  • COED Flag Football (Ages U5–U12): $80

What’s Included

Flag football registration includes:

  • Shorts
  • T-shirt
  • Team picture package
  • Participation award

Provided:

  • Flag belts will be supplied by the park for the season

Required:

Summer 2026 Girls Flag Football Season

Registration opens May 1, 2026.

Clayton County Parks and Recreation is excited to offer Summer 2026 Girls Flag Football for young athletes. This program is designed to build confidence, develop football skills, and promote teamwork in a fun and empowering environment.

Save the Dates for Summer 2026 Girls Flag Football

  • Registration Opens: May 1st, 2026
  • Practices Begin: June 1st, 2026
  • Games Begin: July 8th, 2026
  • Season Ends: August 12th, 2026

Eligibility and Registration Fee

  • Girls Flag Football (Ages 8–13): $50

Volunteer Football Coaches Needed

Become a Volunteer Football Coach!

We’re always on the lookout for passionate Volunteer Football Coaches to help guide and inspire our players! If you have a love for the game and want to make a difference in the lives of young athletes, we’d love for you to join our coaching team.

No Experience? No Problem!
While football experience is encouraged, it’s not required. We provide all the training and support you’ll need to succeed! Whether you’re coaching a team or assisting, we’ll make sure you’re fully prepared to lead and inspire your players.

What You Need to Know:

  • Background Check: All coaches must pass a criminal background check to ensure the safety of our athletes.
  • Training Provided: Every coach must complete the necessary training to ensure a positive and successful experience for both the coach and the players. Don’t worry—we’ll walk you through the whole process!
  • Team Support: We provide all the resources you need to manage a team and create a fun, competitive environment for the kids.
